Hey Everyone, We are updating our specials board and are currently making two past dogs. Re-introducing “The James Brown Dog” and “The John Popper”. The latter is a mouth watering combo of cream cheese, sweet thai chili sauce, green relish, onions, and jalepenos. To find out whats on the “JB” dog you will have to come to the Shack. Have a happy Festivus and a wonderful 2011.
A big thank you to Bestcovery.com for the Shack’s inclusion in a heady who’s-who of American hot dogs. Along with the likes of New York’s Nathan’s Famous, LA’s Pink’s, and Chicago’s Hot Doug’s, writer K Thor Jensen’s taste for the Best Hot Dogs in America has a spot for the Shack:
Funky downtown Portland, Oregon is home to a burgeoning street food culture, with chefs mixing high and low cuisine into awesome combinations. Naturally, the hot dog is getting its share of attention, and nobody in town does ‘em better than Zach’s Shack, a funky late-night dive with juicy, beefy dogs topped with a wide variety of combinations, named after musicians and bands. Try the Grateful Dog, which leavens the meaty goodness with fresh vegetables.
Bestcovery.com is effectively a clearinghouse for “best of” lists. Check out the full list of the Best Hot Dogs in America HERE.
The brick & mortar Shack has been here all along, but in the online world, we’re getting back in the swing of things. Bookmark zachsshack.com for updates, specials, events and general hot dog fun and goodness.
