Congratulations to table tennis player extraordinaire Candy Yiu for doing the impossible: defeating the house pro, Zach Zelinger, on his own table. A master of the penhold technique, Candy’s unassuming style and perseverance worked deep into the evening until the final tally declared her the victor.
Catch Zach on his day off and win yourself a t-shirt, just as Candy did here.
Zach’s Shack 9th Annual Hot dog Eating Contest will be held Sunday August 26 at 4 pm. This event is always exhilarating and hilarious. Scroll down or click here to see pictures from the 2011 contest which was one of our best ever. Sign up fee is $5. All the dogs and buns you can eat in 10 minutes.

On Saturday, August 13 @ 5pm, Zach’s Shack will be holding its 8th Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest!
Join us for the most exciting ten minutes of summer! Enter and be part of the madness or enjoy a cold beer while watching friends, foes and strangers battle for the belt. Returning champion “Hambone” will be there to defend his title and record of 13 dogs!
Where: Zach’s Shack 4611 SE Hawthorne Blvd.
What: 10 minutes; all the dogs (and buns) you can eat
Prizes: The Championship belt, The Golden(mustard yellow) t-shirt, and FAME.
